Advanced Levels and I ……
I sat for advanced level exam in 2008. My subjects are Sinhala, Political Science and Buddhist civilization. I had three Bs for these subjects. But I can’t go to university this year. I am sad about it. But it is not my tault. It is the government’s problems. A lot of students can’t enter too university in Sri Lanka though they. Obtain the right marks due to high compitition in universities. Government should take actions for more space for the students who pass the university entrance exam. Though I was turned down. I never stopped my target. I am doing a/L exam again in 2009. And. I will try to go to university. Horizon Lanka Academy helps a lot for my education. Now, I am learning computers and English at HLA. And I expect to do a computer degree in future. I like computers very much. I like to help young students in Horizon Lanka Academy. And I like doing a job in the computer field. I want to be a good citizen.

I came across your your blog randomly and read some of the things you have written on it. According to this present one, i think u are self determined ambitious young girl.
I’m a 3rd year Engineering Student studying in India and so proud too see young girls like you from places away from colombo getting involved in these kind of activities. keep up the good work.

i ALSO DID ARTS FOR MY A/L S AND INTERESTED A LOT IN COMPUTERS. BUT IN SRI LANAKA, WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO A COMPUTER DEGREE IN A LOCAL UNIVERSITY. I DNT KNOW WHOSE FAULT IS IT. ANYWAYS, IM DOING IT AS A NON CREDIT COURSE IN THE UNIVERSITY OF PERA…THAT IS THE ONLY OPTION FOR US IN LOCAL UNIVERSITIES AS FAR AS I KNOW. HOWEVER, DO NOT DISCOURAGE YOURSELF…GO ON STUDING AND MORE BLOGGING…WISH YOU ALL THE VERY BEST!!

Your are a determined young woman and I hope all your dreams come true. Where did you learn English, was it at HLA? I’m happy to see young people so far away from Colombo learning English.
